Brian McMillan is the managing partner of RBA Financial Group, Collingwood. He entered the life insurance industry in June 1991 with The Prudential Insurance company in Collingwood. Brian has earned his Chartered Life Underwriter designation (1999), his Certified Financial Planner designation in 2000 and his Chartered Financial Consultant designation (2001).
Brian’s business philosophy is to be profitable, to have fun, to educate and to earn the respect of his clients and peers. He has developed his planning practice to assist people with the transitions of life. “Most transitions have financial consequences, good and bad -- it’s not about the money, it’s about what is important about money, and preparing for and dealing with what life throws at you.”
Brian is a lifelong learner, a facilitator, educator and coach, and a businessman who is connected to a vast network of specialized professionals. This connection, and his understanding of other’s needs and their financial implications, have led him to the forefront of his profession.
Brian has served on several boards and committees, including past president of the South Georgian Bay United Way. He is a long-time member of The Financial Advisors Association of Canada (ADVOCIS ), serves as program chair and sits on the ADVOCIS National Ontario School committee. He is also a board member of his local professional association, Simcoe-Muskoka ADVOCIS. He is a currently a member of his church choir, a community men’s chorus and is chairman for the “Community Men’s Breakfast” held monthly in Collingwood. This community outreach project has seen 80 men, from all walks of life, meet for breakfast, fellowship and listen to great speakers.
Brian has been married to his wife Donna for 30 years and they have four children Deanna, Michelle, Kailey and Robbie. He has rekindled his love for watercolour painting and sells prints to raise money for mission and outreach. Brian loves to garden, golf, fish and go camping with his children.
